Working on the Incline

A lot of people were needed to make the Incline work. Engine drivers, stokers, guards, station masters and people to look after and repair the tracks. There was a town at Cross Creek with a shop, a school and a hall. There is a model of Cross Creek in the Museum. Today there is only some pieces of concrete and signs to show where Cross Creek was. Some people lived on top of the hill at the Summit but most lived at Cross Creek.
